Active Shooter Events in the United States
This section of the website provides an overview of all 200 active shooter events (ASE's) that occurred between 2000 and 2015. ALERRT and the FBI identified 200 ASE's between 2000 and 2015.
Though the majority of incidents occurred in schools and business locations, they also occurred in city streets, military and other government properties, in private residences, health care facilities, and houses of worship.
The button options on the right include information on the recorded school active shootings by the characteristics of the events, the victims, active shooters, and the resolution.
The "Event" button details data regarding the characteristics of the events that took place in all locations. These locations include schools, houses of worship, businesses, military bases, medical facilities, and public places.
The "Victim" button provides data on the characteristics of the victims of ASE's.
The "Shooter" button presents data regarding the characteristics of active shooters. An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area.
The "Resolution" button presents data regarding the types of resolutions/conclusions of the ASE.
The button option "Event Summaries," provides details on each event that took place between 2000 and 2015 in all locations.
